As operations manager at Portage Tire and Automotive Center Chris constantly strives to bring our customers the most honest and pleasant experience possible. Chris has over 25 years’ experience in the automotive and customer service industries. Chris is often found in the shop helping as needed, answering questions, and chatting with customers. Chris’ free time consists of watching his daughters play sports and working on one of his many next restomod projects.
Maggie is our business manager; she is usually in the back office, shuffling through paperwork and managing all the behind the scenes tasks needed to keep the shop running. In her free time, Maggie enjoys watching her children play sports and working out at Portage CrossFit Coop.
If you have a question and Chris isn’t available, Aaron is your man. Aaron is Chris’ older brother and started working for Portage Tire and Automotive Center in 2013. Growing up on a farm he has a vast knowledge of auto repair. If he is not at the shop working on his newest project car, you can bet he is up a tree trying to hunt down that monster buck.
Whether you need a price on tires, an estimate on services, or to schedule an appointment, chances are you will be speaking with Sue. Susanne is Chris and Aaron’s mother and has been part of Portage Tire and Automotive Center since the very beginning. She joined our team full time in 2021, we don’t know how we survived without her this whole time. In her free time Sue enjoys relaxing in nature, gardening, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Russ has been a part of the Portage Tire and Auto team since 2016. Russ has over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry. In his free time, Russ volunteers for his local Fire Department, is building his own restomod, or in search of that monster buck.
Dave is the newest member of the Portage Tire and Automotive crew. Dave started with us in 2023 and comes with 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. His attention to detail makes him a great addition to our team.
Lance joined the Portage Tire and Automotive team in 2023. He offered us a solution to provide more oil change and quick lube services to our customer base. Lance is invaluable in helping Sue and Maggie keep our inventory in check.
Chase is Aaron’s oldest son and has been a reliable member of the Portage Tire and Automotive family since he graduated in 2019. Chase is paving the way as the oldest of the next generation of Kufahls to work at the shop. When Chase isn’t fixing cars, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, fishing, and cheering on the Packers with Grandpa.
Tyler Joined Portage Tire and Automotive in 2021. Tyler has been working on cars, trucks, snowmobiles, and quads with his dad since he was a kid. Tyler has proven to be a versatile and valuable member to our team. In his spare time, Tyler can be found racing quads or snowmobiles depending on the season. He also enjoys bowfishing in the summer and hunting in the fall.
Lane is Chris and Aaron’s nephew. Lane will be graduating in the spring of 2025 and plans to join the crew full time after that. Lane has been working at Portage Tire and Automotive Center as an apprentice since 2021 and is growing as a skilled mechanic every day. In his free time Lane can usually be found working on his own project vehicles.
Hunter is Aaron’s youngest son and has been working at Portage Tire and Automotive Center as an apprentice since 2022. Hunter will be graduating in the spring of 2025 and plans to join the crew full time. In his free time Hunter enjoys cheering on the Packers with Grandpa and working on his own project vehicles.
If you see friendly little girls with crazy hair and dirt smudges on their faces you have met “the girls”. Josie and Allie are Chris and Maggie’s daughters. The girls come to the shop most days and will chat your ear off if you let them. We are very blessed to have the opportunity to bring our children to work with us every day.
